About pulmonary rehabilitation
What it is about
Patients referred for pulmonary rehabilitation often suffer from a chronic lung disease such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Pulmonary rehabilitation can also help after an acute worsening of an existing lung disease.
Symptoms and consequences
With severe chronic lung diseases, one must learn to cope with the new daily routine. Even after a severe pneumonia, it often takes weeks to recover. Specific rehabilitation can help with poor performance, shortness of breath and fatigue.
