About this disease
What it concerns
Spider veins, also called burst veins, occur especially on the legs. Sometimes they are also found in the area of the abdomen, chest, breast or décolleté. When appearing on the face, these small veins are summarized under the term couperosis. The bluish shimmering small veins and vein nests can be cosmetically disturbing.
Symptoms and consequences
Spider veins look like burst veins. They have no medical value, but can be a precursor to varicose veins and very disturbing cosmetically.
How we can help you
Examination and diagnosis
After the exclusion of varicose veins by a phlebologist, the examination is performed in the venous surgery consultation upon request.
Treatment
Radiofrequency can be used to treat the smallest spider veins gently and with little pain. In foam sclerotherapy, a specially prepared foam is injected into the small veins to close them. The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis in our clinic. The costs are not covered by health insurance.
